The “Tin Flippers” in World War II

Fun and educational activity for kids—learn about the local women who helped fight in World War II. Sponsored by the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry & Labor.

Meet James Garfield

Join reenactor Benjamin Frayser for a performance about the life and legacy of our 20th president. Mr Frayser has been personally inspired by the life and legacy of President Garfield, and considers him to be one of the greatest examples of the American Dream. Mr Frayser was a NPS volunteer at the James A. Garfield National Historic Site in Mentor, Ohio, from 2014 to 2017. Mr Frayser has had a lifelong interest in history, particularly the American Civil War and its societal impacts.  He received his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Author Talk with John Scalzi

Celebrate Summer Discovery and America250 with John Scalzi, a New York Times bestselling science fiction author. Scalzi will discuss sci-fi in the modern era, his writing process, and living with his head in the stars.
