Frances Metcalf is a printmaker and encaustic painter. After a successful career as a fundraising consultant for national cultural institutions, Metcalf began to explore the art of the hand-pulled print. She has participated in printmaking courses and workshops at Penland School for Craft, Penland, NC; George Mason University, Fairfax, VA; the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA; Gordon College, Wenham, MA; Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media, and private instruction in Bala, Ontario, CA.
